Easter Brunch

blabla Easter basket bonanza.
Gray got Easter blabla's from everyone...Grandpa and Grandma Bohn, Grandaddo and Nanny Unthank (along with his easter basket), Dad, Mom and Ellie. I figured we would just stuff his basket with all of his Easter blabla's and call it a day. No chocolate bunnies here. :)

Dapper Gray.

Mama's-to-be
Gray and Aunt Toni
Sweet Charley and Sara.
Having fun with Gray's tie!

Hope you all had a great Easter! We had a fabulous brunch at our house with lots of friends and lots of kiddos... some really cute kiddos. It was a cold, gloomy day so the outside activities were limited but the egg hunt still went on. The kids all had too much sugar and the adults all had too much of everything! But, it was all worth it!

Happy Earth Day!

To celebrate Earth Day I'm wearing my organic tie-dye onesie and hat (thanks Brooke and Ryan!), my organic bamboo pants and my organic "earth" socks.

I thought these pictures from our zoo visit went well with our Earth Day post! Gray's first trip was a success. He seemed to love the monkey exhibit...fitting I guess! :)

Take me out to the ball game...

My dad has been a Cubs fan forever. My brother and I were raised loving the Cubs. I still remember my first game at Wrigley Field when the Cubs played the Pirates. I think I was in 4th grade and our seats were on the 1st base line. It was only natural that my dad wanted to take Gray to his first Cubs game. When my parents were here last week for my dad's birthday, we got tickets to see the Cubs play the Rockies (thanks to our friend Zack for getting our tickets).

Gray did pretty well. He lasted through the 5th inning. He was scared to death when the crowd cheered loudly, but he LOVED looking around at all of the action. It was a great day, with the exception of my poor mom getting hit in the face with a foul ball (she is ok and we got to watch the replay over and over when we got home).

I am so glad we got to do this with my parents. It won't be the last time we go to a Cubs game together. Gray is counting down the days until his cousin is born so Grandpa can take both of them to a game....COME ON OUT BABY BOHN.

GOOOOOOO CUBBIES!

Dancin' Machine

Gray has started to "dance" when we listen to music and hold him like this. It cracks us up. Watch his face when he really gets going. Hysterical.

8 is GREAT!

WOWZA! Month 7 flew by and I think it was because we were so busy doing new things. Here are some of the things that have happened in the last month...

Lowered the mattress in Gray's crib.
He is starting to try to pull himself up and we didn't want to take any chances!
Crawling...army crawl, regular crawl, rolling, scooting...whatever it takes to get around.
Took up yoga and mastered downward dog.
Became a farmer.

Gray also...
*got 2 new teeth...bringing our total to 6!

* started sign language class

*started music class

*started dancing like a maniac...more on that later.

*started "waving."

*says "Dadadadadadadadadad," even though he isn't sure what he is saying!

*has become a little person with a big personality.

Drew and I were talking yesterday about what an awesome phase Gray is in right now. He is so, so, so happy. Smiling, laughing, dancing, talking...he has become the most awesome little man in the world. He is a mover and a shaker and it's so fun and so exhausting at the same time!

Another fabulous month!

Happy 8 month birthday Gray!
We love you more and more every day!

Happy Birthday Great Grandma Mep!

Happy Birthday Mep! Gray and Ellie wish they could be there to give you a big birthday hug! We hope you have a wonderful day!

xoxo
love,
Drew, Kristy, Gray and Ellie

Space suit.

My new blabla, Johnny, is so hip...
A heart tattoo and a blue mohawk? Don't get any ideas Gray.
Daydreaming about crawling over to Ellie to pull her hair.
"Mom!!! How could you say that? I would never do such a thing to Ellie!"

"Oh, OK. Maybe I would, but it's only because I LOVE her!"
TUESDAY BONUS PICTURE!
Guess what I am doing here?

Inspired By.

Drew's parents were here this weekend. I didn't take any pictures except for a few in his Mad Men outfit. I can't believe it, so unlike me. Anyway, we had a great visit with them and Mike gave me the best idea. On Saturday when I brought Gray out in his outfit for the day, Mike said he looked like he belonged on Mad Men (one of our favorite shows.) I couldn't agree more. I have been watching so many episodes of Mad Men I think it has penetrated my subconscious. Anything Penguin reminds me of the 1960's but paired with his cardigan, it is soooooo Don Draper. Can't you just picture him sitting poolside at a country club drinking an Old Fashioned?

Oh Don, you are so dreamy.

You too, Gravy.

Inspired By.
a new series

During my time at Anthropologie as a merchandiser, I learned a lot about inspiration. Every season the company introduces new concepts in both home and apparel and sends out a binder with the inspiration behind the concepts. Each new concept was inspired by certain places, certain people, certain art; a certain something.

Monday, we woke up and it was snowing. I was getting Gray dressed to go to Gymboree and as I put his outfit on (keep in mind, I used to dress mannequins for a living...poor Gray) I started thinking about how it reminded me of our leather chair. Maybe it was more how he looked like he belonged in the chair drinking a strong cup of coffee, reading "The Catcher in the Rye," sporting a sweet pair of Ray Ban Original Wayfarer reading glasses.

I had to pause. The thought of that makes me laugh out loud.

Anyway. It gave me the idea of a new series for the blog...
