MOM! I look like a freakin' pumpkin! (Part IV of Nebraska trip)
May the Force be with you.
"I don't know who you are or where you've come from, but from now on you'll do as I say, okay?"

Uncle Brian and Aunt Kristen with Jedi Master Yoda.
We celebrated Gray's first Halloween in Lincoln with Grandaddo Mike, Nanny Toni, Uncle Brian and Aunt Kristen. We had such a wonderful time with everyone on our trip. Gray was really cooperative on his 7 1/2 hour drive and slept the entire way (except to eat.) He was also really cooperative while we took picture after picture of him in his Yoda costume. Ellie too. She wouldn't sit up so you don't get to see just how funny it is, but you get the idea. I think Ellie LOVED the attention she was getting.....she loves getting her picture taken and will hold a pose longer than most people!
Because we had so many events in Lincoln, and blogger only lets you upload 5 photos at a time, the trip will be posted in a 4 part series. Lucky you! :)

bla. bla. bla.
Gray's Grandma Toni and Drew and I started him a collection of bla bla dolls before he was born. You may remember "Mr. X" (the muppet looking doll with the black and white sweater) being posted on my facebook page when we were in Telluride for Phish. Drew saw "Mr. X" in a store window and couldn't resist. He is just the right amount of funkiness and cuteness you expect from a blabla, yet a little more manly. :) If you aren't familiar with them, check out the website (www.blablakids.com). All of the dolls, sweaters, hats, etc., are knitted by hand by Peruvian artists.

Hard "2" believe!
2 MONTHS OLD!!!!
I can't believe I am typing this. Time seems to be passing so fast, it's scary. Gray has changed so much in the last couple of weeks. He is getting really good at holding his head up, he smiles all of the time, he's interested in his toys, he's cooing non-stop, he has outgrown his newborn clothes and is wearing mostly 3-6 month sizes, and he is finally getting some hair! He is the best baby and has slept through the night on a few occasions. Luckily, he only wakes up once during the night and goes back to sleep without any fits. We feel blessed to have such a happy, healthy, beautiful baby! Happy Birthday, Gray!

Quality time
My mom and dad flew up to Denver to watch Gray so that Drew and I could go to 3 nights of Phish concerts. They finally had some quality time with Gray and I think all three of them had the time of their lives. Gray has started smiling and laughing and he was really showing this new skill off to grandma and grandpa. He couldn't get enough of them. They were always able to make him smile, which made me smile. They also gave Ellie a ton of much needed love and attention! I feel so lucky to have such a great family and miss them already!
Thank you Mom and Dad!

Puttin' on the Ritz.
This weekend we packed up the cars with baby gear and headed up to Beaver Creek for Drew's law firms annual retreat. Every year they put up all of the attorneys and their families for 2 nights at The Ritz. We have 2 planned dinners that we have to attend, so we brought up Drew's parents, Mike and Toni to watch Gray at night (and during our spa treatments!) We were so grateful they were able to come!
Fall is my FAVORITE time of the year. I love everything about it... the clothes, the cool nights, the long shadows, the changing colors. We were so lucky on this trip, the weather was BEAUTIFUL and most of the leaves were still on the trees. Usually by this time of year, all of the color is gone. It was perfect!
Grandaddo Mike and his little buddy, Gray.
Gray's first night away from home was not his best. He didn't cry one bit, but he grunted the ENTIRE night. We weren't sure what this was about, but it kept us up all night. Drew came back to the room at 2am thinking he would get to sleep until he had to be at his 8am business meeting....boy was he wrong.
